EXECUTIVE BOARD
General Secretary
Oversees all administrative operations, coordinates meetings, manages official communications, and ensures smooth workflow across all departments.
Assistant General Secretary
Supports the General Secretary in managing correspondence, documentation, schedules, and administrative duties.
Director of Administration
Responsible for internal structure, policies, workflow, record management, and ensuring departmental effectiveness.
Director of Publicity and Media
Leads media strategy, manages social media accounts, and drives public engagement for cybersecurity awareness.
Director of Projects
Plans and oversees cybersecurity programs, CTF competitions, security webinars, and technical initiatives.
Director of Research & Innovation
Leads research initiatives, coordinates technical papers, and fosters innovation in cybersecurity methodologies.
Director of Technical Operations
Manages technical infrastructure, security tools, and ensures operational security across all platforms.
EDITORIAL BOARD
Editor-in-Chief
(Graduate Students & Early-Career Professionals) - Oversees the editorial process, quality control, review cycles, and publication timelines for cybersecurity research.
Managing Editor
(300 & 400 Level Students) - Supports the Editor-in-Chief, leads review teams, and ensures technical accuracy and high-quality output.
Associate Editor
(200 Level Students) - Assists in reviewing manuscripts, checking technical references, and ensuring academic rigor in cybersecurity papers.
Technical Content Editor
Specializes in reviewing technical content, code samples, and security implementation details in research papers.
TECHNICAL TEAMS
Security Research Lead
Leads research projects, coordinates threat analysis, and mentors junior researchers in cybersecurity methodologies.
Red Team Lead
Organizes penetration testing exercises, vulnerability assessments, and offensive security research.
Blue Team Lead
Focuses on defensive security, incident response, and security operations research.
CTF Competition Coordinator
Organizes and manages Capture The Flag competitions, security challenges, and technical workshops.
REGIONAL LEADERSHIP
Campus Director (Nigeria)
Represents the Society in their institution, organizes campus-based cybersecurity projects, and builds technical community visibility.
Country Director (International)
Leads Society operations across a specific country, supervises Campus Directors, and expands national-level cybersecurity partnerships.

Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must be cybersecurity/computer science/IT students, recent graduates, or early-career cybersecurity professionals (0–5 years experience) with an interest in cybersecurity research, technical writing, or leadership from any country across the world.
Applicants must possess good written and verbal communication skills.
Must demonstrate a strong interest in cybersecurity research, technical writing, editorial work, or organizational leadership, depending on the role applied for.
Must be responsible, reliable, and capable of meeting deadlines without constant supervision.
Previous experience in cybersecurity research, technical writing, editing, leadership, or security-related campus organizations is an added advantage but not compulsory.
For editorial positions, applicants should have basic familiarity with academic citation styles such as IEEE, ACM, or APA, or be willing to learn.
For media and publicity roles, applicants should have excellent knowledge of social media management and cybersecurity awareness strategies.
Applicants must be willing to work remotely and collaborate with a diverse team across different locations.
Applicants must uphold professionalism, confidentiality, and the values of the Cybersecurity Research Society.

- Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until all positions are filled
Application Timeline & Process
Selection Process
- Applications reviewed by cybersecurity experts and selection committee
- Shortlisted candidates invited for virtual interviews
- Technical roles may include practical assessments or research presentations
- Final selections announced within 3-4 weeks of application deadline
- Term of service: 1 year (renewable based on performance)
